Jim Hoffman and I worked on Waking Up from Our Nightmare between June and September of 2004.
The collaboration followed our partnering with Chris Carlisle on a 16-page illustrated booklet, " '9/11' " / Great Crimes, a Greater Cover-Up, in 2003.
Working with Jim was rigorous. He's
a scientist trained. Every assertion needed provable basis and logical
sequence. Early on, we decided that
pages should ideally render a complete picture of the subject-lines
that headed them. Pages thus became more like poems or posters
in their demands for concision and
Working with Jim was also fun--exhilarating like a good work-out. He'd been relieved of illusions when
a stubborn, peace-mongering friend of his in New Hampshire was killed during a needless attack on a Church that was ordered by then Governor
Howard Dean. We shared indignation
of the losses of life on 9/11/01 and the comparably huge lies propping Governments' Official Stories for the
'Attacks on America' and the 'War on Terror.' We shared, too, similarly ironical senses of humor.
